Prescriptions and Referrals

Our doctors can only provide prescriptions or specialist referrals at the time of consultation, please be advised that due to a duty of care the doctors are unable to provide either of these items by telephone request if you have not attended the clinic within the past 2 months.

We are able supply these by telephone request if there are special circumstances. Each request will be considered on an individual basis.

Agreement to issue a repeat prescription without consultation will not automatically mean this will be repeated at the next request. Requests can be made by phone, letter or calling at the surgery with twenty-four hours’ notice.

The cost for a prescription without seeing the doctor is $25.00.

Cancellation Policy

Healthy Women Medical Centres goal is to provide prompt and quality healthcare to every one of our patients.

For this very reason we have implemented a cancellation policy. If you need to change or cancel your appointment we do appreciate 24hours notice to do so.

No Show Policy

If you do not attend your appointment without letting us know, a cancellation fee of $50.00 will apply. This can be paid either before or at your next appointment at Healthy Women Medical Centre.

Contacting your Doctor

If you need to ask your Doctor a question regarding your consultation, please leave a detailed message with the receptionists and they will forward your query onto your Healthy Women Doctor. Healthy Women Medical Centre will then endeavour to reply to your query as soon as possible.


Information collected from patients is primarily to provide quality health care services. We have a legal and ethical duty to protect patient information. Patient information may have to be disclosed to other medical professionals so that proper health care is not compromised.


The policy of our doctors is that you can ring to see if your results are in. Reception staff are able to inform you if your results are normal. Abnormal results need to be discussed with your doctor face to face. Reception staff are unable to comment on your results as they only have access to the comments from the doctor. If you require a copy of your results these can be collected at the time of your appointment with the doctor's consent. We do not email or post results.

Home Visits

If you are a regular patient of this practice, live within a 3km radius of the surgery and you are too ill, frail or elderly to come to the surgery, you may request a home visit by calling our clinic.

Please call reception before 9.15am if possible. Fees for home visits are available on request. This fee is payable preferably by credit card over the phone once the doctor has determined that a home visit is deemed necessary.

After Hours Service

For emergencies when the practice is closed we have a formal arrangement with St. Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, North Street, Spring Hill. Ph: 3834 4444.

Patients requiring urgent attention please ring 000 for an ambulance.
