Dr Sinead Lynch
Dr Sinead Jennings graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2009, and went on to complete her specialist training in General Practice in Ireland. Prior to studying medicine, she worked as a pharmacist.
Her special interests include lifestyle medicine including management of obesity and diabetes and is particularly passionate about women’s health. She has completed a diploma in women’s health from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (DRCOG) and an Advanced Certificate in Management of the Menopause. She also has qualifications in Contraception, Long Acting Contraception insertion and removal, family planning and management of obesity. She has gained experience both in general practice and in women’s health over the last 6 years. She enjoys teaching and has just completed a diploma in Medical Education from the University of South Wales.
She has also undertaken research in diabetes and has published several papers relating to geriatrics Sinead moved to Brisbane in 2021 with her husband Sam and their 4 children. Sam is currently working at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and at the Wesley Hospital as a spinal surgeon.
Sinead is a keen sportswoman, and competes in rowing, athletics and triathlon. She was a finalist in rowing at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. She feels the skills she gained competing at high level sport are very transferable in medicine and she enjoys supporting patients through lifestyle changes.
She is really excited about joining the team in the Healthy Women’s Clinic where she can combine her general practice with her passion for women’s health and supporting her patients to make the changes needed for healthier lifestyles and better mental and physical health.
