Appointments
Healthy Women Medical Centre is a private billing clinic.
Medicare rebates apply to all consultations as all our Female Doctors are GP’s.
Consultations are made by appointment only. You do not require a referral to see one
of our Female Doctors at Healthy Women Medical Centre.
Prescription and Referrals
Healthy Women Medical Centre doctors can only provide prescriptions and referrals
at the time of your consultation.
Unfortunately we are unable to supply prescriptions from a telephone request.
Fees
Consultation fees at Healthy Women Medical Centre vary according to the time that
you spend with your Doctor. Our standard consultation times are 30 minutes allowing
you to be listened to properly and not feel as though you are being pushed out the door.
As we are a General Practice Medicare rebates apply in all cases.
Emergency
Any Patients in need of urgent medical attention are requested to attend the nearest
emergency centre at a hospital or telephone 000 and ask for the ambulance.
Cancellation Policy
Healthy Women Medical Centres goal is to provide prompt and quality health care to
every one of our patients.
For this very reason we have implemented a cancellation policy. If you need to
change or cancel your appointment we do appreciate 24hours notice to do so.
No Show Policy
If so some reason you do not show up for your appointment without letting us know,
unfortunately a cancellation fee of $50.00 will apply, and can be paid either
before or at your next appointment at Healthy Women Medical Centre.
Contacting Your Doctor
If you need to ask your Doctor a question regarding your consultation,
please leave a detailed message with the receptionists and they will forward your
query onto your Healthy Women Doctor. Healthy Women Medical Centre will then
endeavour to reply to your query as soon as possible.
Home Visits
If you are a regular patient of this practice, you are too ill, frail or elderly
to come to the surgery and you live within 3 km radius, you may request
a home visit by ringing our surgery.
Please call reception before 9.15am if possible. Fees for home visits are
available on request. This fee is payable preferably by credit card over
the phone once the doctor has determined that a home visit is deemed necessary.
After Hours Service
For emergencies when practice is closed we have a formal arrangement with
St. Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, North Street, Spring Hill. Ph: 3834 4455.
Patients requiring urgent attention please ring 000 for an ambulance.
If you think you may need a home visit please ring the surgery number
on 3720 2622 to obtain details of our after hours service.
X-rays & Scans
At Healthy Women Medical Centre we would prefer that you keep your images and take
them with you. We are only required to keep your X-rays, scans or films on the premises
for a period of three months and then will have to dispose of them.
Privacy Policy
At Healthy Women Medical Centre, we collect personal information from our patients for
the primary purpose of providing quality health care services. Our Female Doctors require
you to provide your personal details and a full medical history so that they may
properly assess, diagnose, treat and be proactive in your health care needs and any of
your female Health issues.
In accord with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000, all information collected
at Healthy Women Medical Centre is treated as “sensitive information”.
To protect your privacy, this Practice operates strictly in accord with the Act.
All our Female Doctors and Staff here at Healthy Women Medical Centre are trained to
handle your personal information discreetly and privately. We also engage in a range
of security initiatives to protect your information from loss or misuse.
There may be serious repercussions if we do not know who you are, how to contact you
or be able to contact you in a timely manner. Withholding personal health information
from your GP or others involved in your health care may out your life or health at risk.
Health providers involved in your treatment and care may receive selected information
from your personal health record. These include pathology, hospital, radiology and
specialist services.
If you wish to access your personal information you are welcome to discuss this with
your treating doctor. Should you require a copy of your personal information,
it is usually available within 30 days and nominal charges may apply.
Quality Assurance
Healthy Women Medical Centre prides itself on providing Female Doctors of the highest
Standard with a particular interest or training in Women’s Health issues, this ensures
that we can offer you the best of care every time.
We are a fully accredited General Practice with a particular interest in Female health.
This means that we comply with a particular level of service, hygiene and cleanliness.
Unlike most other General Medical Centres we won’t rush you out the door.
At Healthy Women Medical Centre we go to every effort to provide the service, time and
care that you expect to have from you Doctor.
