Dr Fiona Haines – Medical Director
B Med, DRANZCOG
Dr Fiona Haines has many years experience as a general practitioner,
educated from the University of Newcastle and graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine in 1983.
Fiona’s goal is to control symptoms whilst making the correct diagnosis for each individual.
Her curriculum vita consists of Mirena and Implanon Training, Menopause into the Millennium,
Lactation studies, Sexual Health Courses, Family Medicine, Paediatrics and a Diploma of Obstetrics.
Fiona’s passion lies in solving the mystery of the female body and desires to nurture and educate
her patients for a healthier way of life.
Dr Giselle Donaldson
MBBS, FRACGP, CFPA
Giselle has practiced medicine since 1994 in both Queensland and Tasmania
and has family planning qualifications. She has worked in the hospital system
and women’s health clinics.
Giselle is a Maternity Share Care Liaison Officer and an examiner for the
Royal Australian College of GP’s and the Australian Medical Council.
Giselle specialises in women’s health and has a special interest in antenatal care.
Dr Donaldson is on maternity leave as of May 2007
Dr Cherynne Johansson
MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, CFPA
Dr Cherynne Johansson is a general practitioner specialising in women’s health and wellbeing.
Since graduating in 1996 she has undertaken studies in children’s health,
sexual reproductive health and family planning, inspiring her to guide and support women
through their various changes of life.
Cherynne has practiced medicine since 1996 and has Child Health and Family Planning
qualifications in particular Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Cherynne moved from Western Australia to Brisbane with her husband in 2001.
Dr. Clare Maher
MBBS, FRACGP, Dip O & G
Dr Clare Maher graduated from University of Queensland in 1985 as a general practitioner
and is passionate about changing the lives of women and guiding them to reach their full
potential in every area of their life.
Clare has undertaken additional study in family planning, sexual health and menopause.
With her guidance she believes in educating her patients and encouraging them to take an
active role in improving and maintaining their health. Currently Clare is only available
on Saturdays at Healthy Women Medical Centre.
Dr. Karen Shaw
MBBS
Dr Karen Shaw graduated as a general practitioner from University of Queensland in 1983
with special interest in preventative and holistic medicine. Her interest in holistic
practices resulted from her desire to seek better treatment methods to improve the
quality of life of her patients.
Karen spent 11 years working as a General Practitioner in Logan City and a further 6 years
in a group practice at Coorparoo before joining Healthy Women Medical Centre.
Dr Shaw specialises in women’s health and desires to support her patients to a happier,
healthier life.
Dr. Barbara Richard
MBBS, CFPA
Barbara has practiced medicine since 1976. She attained Family Planning qualifications in 1981
and worked in women's health clinics in New Zealand and Australia.
She has been a General Practitioner in solo practice in Brisbane for 20 years and is married
with two children in their twenties.
Dr. Lyn Williams
MBBS, Dip Ch Psych, CFPA
Lyn has practiced medicine since 1973. Lyn has worked in family planning, sexual
health and counselling for over 30 years. Lyn has been a USA Peace Corps Medical Officer,
Child Health Medical Officer and School Educator
Lyn now specialises in women’s health and her desire is to help guide, develop and direct
each patient back to better health. Lyn has undertaken further post graduate study in
Child Psychiatry, Sphere Counselling, Family Planning, and Parent Effectiveness training.
Accompanied with her 34 years of experience in general practice, her desire is to
nurture each patient to a healthy body and mind.
Dr. Sarah Skerman
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Sarah Skerman is a general practitioner specialising in women’s health and wellbeing.
She has undertaken further post-graduate studies in sexual health, family planning,
Mirena insertion, Implanon procedures and menopause.
Sarah is involved in the Beyond Blue initiative program which is aimed at prevention
and early intervention of depression. Dr Skerman has a desire to support and make
positive changes to each patient’s life.
Dr Mary Cohn
MBBS, MFM
Dr Mary Cohn completed her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Queensland and undertook her training in Queensland.
Dr Cohn has owned and worked in her own General practice for over 30 years.
Currently Mary is Chairwoman for the Qld Medical board.
Dr Cohn has extensive experience in General practice and has a special interest in Women's Health.
Dr. Kim Morgan-Short
MBBS, Grad.Cert AppLaw
Dr Kim Morgan-Short completed her Medical studies at the University of Queensland and trained in a variety of General medical areas.
Dr Morgan-Short is a general practitioner (Women's Health) who has worked in the UK for several years.
Kim has considerable experience in the area of general medicine and in particular the area of cosmetic medicine (being trained and working in London and throughout the UK).

Desi Carlos
B.App.Sc Grad.Dip Nutr & Diet.APD Dietician
Desi Carlos is a trusted Dietician, committed to the well-being of a diverse patronage.
After sixteen years of industry experience, she has risen to the top of her profession.
Her areas of interest include: weight control in adults and children, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, eating disorders, bowel disorders, women's health, pregnancy & lactation, and child nutrition.
She has the full support of her husband Peter Carlos, son Connor and daughter Zoe.
