Dr Fiona Haines has been in General Practice for nearly 30 years; she was in the first year to graduate from the new and then innovative medical course at University of Newcastle. Fiona completed her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology some years later.
Her interests are helping patients understand what is happening in their bodies and minds and then helping them stay healthy and happy. Within this she has particular interests in perinatal care, management of menopause, contraception and is skilled in both mirena and other IUCD insertion as well as implanon insertion. Fiona is a great listener if you just want to talk things thru. Fiona is also the Secretary for the Australian Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Outside of medicine her interests are mainly out door with trekking on foot or horse wherever her partner or friends will follow. Fiona also has 2 adult daughters and too many pets.
